Its been a fantastic week here at C.I. Visions with several clients making headline and head turning news and beauty, fashion and lifestyle statements — securing millions of dollars in free endorsement! Fruits & Passion really celebrated Earth Day when we placed their new environmentally green Cucina product on Access Hollywood. We placed our client Jovani Fashions on Carrie Underwood (twice) at the Academy of Country Music and the Brooks & Dunn television special, country singer Miranda Lambert walked the red carpet at Sony Music’s ACM after party in a black strapless gown, American Idol breakout and lead contender Crystal Bowersox wowed fans with her best performance yet wearing Jovani, Glee star Amber Riley walked the GLAAD Awards red carpet in a Jovani cocktail dress, Green’s Day American Idiot premiered on Broadway with the female lead in a Jovani gown, and Taylor Swift’s stylist worked with us on exclusive designs, and we worked on dressing both Kate Hudson and Ginnifer Goodwin for a new movie called something borrowed! And that’s not all! Another lifestyle client, Aglow Eco Living secured new celebrity fans of their blinged out and environmentally green product collections!!! This part of our or efforts is called celebrity seeding – where we reach out and match our clients services and products to personalities and celebrities, and influencers in popular media who serve as free public ambassadors. We can also use this placements to further the exposure with coverage in national magazines, newspapers, television and of course all across the web with social media outlets. Just one tool in the powerful magical box of public relations and marketing. I love my job and I really love seeing and hearing the happy clients I partner with. Ah, yes, its a great day….

Last night we joined Linda Evans, Fashion and Beauty Director at Family Circle for a preview of the new Broadway play American Idiot. What a show! Based on Green Day front man Billie Joe Armstrong’s music from the album of the same name it was quite a show. Probably the best statement musical since the opening of HAIR -oh I am dating myself with that one!!! It was fantastic!! From the moment the first “news” annoucement was broadcast over the theatre’s sound system to the final standing ovation closing this is one show now to miss!!! Reality television meets the Iraq War – with lots of relevant and moving comments in between and probably the best new musical this jaded New Yorker has seen on Broadway in some time. Oh, by the way I was there because we are dressing the three female leads Rebecca Naomi Jones, Christina Sajous and Mary Faber in our client Jovani for their opening night star-studded premiere next week – brava ladies!!!

As a publicist – one of my most valuable tools of communication is my writing style. Clients hire the agency because we know just how to get their products and services seen and reviewed by the media. One way is our use of magnetic copy writing. We engage our audience from the start and that begins an attention-grabbing headline – and then we keep it up! There are lots of ways to do this, including educating, exciting, outraging, titillating, and even thought provoking the audience. All of these approaches can be summarized by saying that copy needs to be entertaining and relavent. If your introduction doesn’t get people interested, they aren’t going to read the rest of your pitch, press release or e-mail.

It has been quite some time since I posted on Blah, Blah, Blonde and since I am a woman with so much to say – I really can’t believe it!!! I have been channeling my energies into so many new and exciting places that it seemed so “old” to blog – so dated… Everyone who thinks they are anyone, all the tendies, and companies afraid they will miss the next consumer heading their way — are all focusing their energies into tweets, facebook page building, and are you ready — crowdsourcing! WHAT IS IT YOU ASK!!! Basically crowdsourcing is putting out an open call out to consumers to ask them not only what they think they want in a product or service like the one you are delivering but asking their advise in how to do it! Talk about cheap labor!!! Or is it? Its not just enough to tell companies and fashion brands what you want – now you can get paid for it!!!! Reality TV hits the business world – it this keeps up – imagine the hideous ideas for fashion, beauty and lifestyle coming down the pike? Are companies and manufacturers so scared of their own original thoughts and ideas that they are willing to pay a new generation of wannabees for mindless trend advice? Since when do consumers know how to market a successful product? Gleeming ideas from shoppers, knowing their consumers, catering to their every whim and need is so today – but the real question is – is it inspired, creative style and real genius and innovation – or is it just another way for people living in fear to further give their power away? Stay tuned – I am just getting started….
